【摘要】:Thispracticeshouldbeusedbyapersonwhodevelopsananalyticalmethodtoensurethatthespectralbandwidthscitedinthepracticeareactuallytheonesused.Note18212;Themethoddevelopershouldestablishthespectralbandwidthsthatcanbeusedtoobtainsatisfactoryresults.Thispracticeshouldbeusedtodeterminewhetheraspectralbandwidthspecifiedinamethodcanberealizedwithagivenspectrophotometerandthuswhethertheinstrumentissuitableforuseinthisapplication.Thispracticeallowstheuserofaspectrophotometertodeterminetheactualspectralbandwidthoftheinstrumentunderagivensetofconditionsandtocomparetheresulttothespectralbandwidthcalculatedfromdatagiveninthemanufacturerrsquo;literatureorindicatedbytheinstrument.Instrumentmanufacturerscanusethispracticetomeasureanddescribethepracticalspectralbandwidthofaninstrumentoveritsentirewavelengthoperatingrange.Thispracticeishighlypreferedtothegeneralpracticeofstatingthelimitingorthetheoreticalspectralbandwidthatasinglewavelength.1.1Thispracticedescribesaprocedureformeasuringthepracticalspectralbandwidthofaspectrophotometerinthewavelengthregionof185to820nm.Practicalspectralbandwidthisthespectralbandwidthofaninstrumentoperatedatagivenintegrationperiodandagivensignal-to-noiseratio.1.2Thispracticeisapplicabletoinstrumentsthatutilizeservo-operatedslitsandmaintainaconstantperiodandaconstantsignal-to-noiseratioasthewavelengthisautomaticallyscanned.Itisalsoapplicabletoinstrumentsthatutilizefixedslitsandmaintainaconstantservoloopgainbyautomaticallyvaryinggainordynodevoltage.Inthislattercase,thesignal-to-noiseratiovarieswithwavelength.Itcanalsobeusedoninstrumentsthatutilizesomecombinationofthetwodesigns,aswellasonthosethatvarytheperiodduringthescan.Fordigitizedinstruments,refertothemanufacturer''smanual.1.3Thispracticedoesnotcoverthemeasurementoflimitingspectralbandwidth,definedastheminimumspectralbandwidthachievableunderoptimumexperimentalconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
